Sharing some memories from my childfree vacations in this quick round-up plus my current travel list which continues to go every year.
I mentioned in the benefits of being childfree that spontaneous travel is one of my favorite things about being childfree.
I can just pick up whenever I like and decide I’m going to head over to some new place the next weekend without issues.
My favorite holiday destination is a sunny place with a fantastic beach and lots of colored drinks.
Outside visiting museums and eating new food, I’m not keen on running around places on childfree vacations or climbing stuff as it feels too much like work.
I have been to European destinations during spring and fall though because history and lots of museums.
My Childfree Vacations
Childfree Vacation in Malta
This was the vacation where my wanderlust started. I was a little nervous about traveling solo but after the first time, I just fell into it.
Childfree Vacation in Maldives
Ah, sun, beach, sand…is there anything more wonderful? Ok, food :). The Maldives was also the first time in my life I went diving and snorkeling.
What an experience that was. I have never seen sea life so beautiful before…
Childfree Vacation in Montreux, Switzerland
Beautiful and the best Christmas market on the planet. I was really happy here even though it wasn’t my typical sun and beach vacation.
Childfree Vacation in Jordan
Childfree Vacation in Seychelles
Another favorite holiday destination. I got sick halfway through and spent the last two days in bed. I feel like I need to visit again to make up for that.
Our tour guide took us right to the middle of the ocean where we could feed fish and just enjoy the ambiance and tranquillity.
My friend and I were scared we were going to drop our phones into the ocean so we didn’t take any pictures.
Childfree Vacation in Italy
This was a 2 city trip to Rome and Venice. I didn’t get to spend a lot of time in Venice but I thoroughly enjoyed my jaunt to Rome.
Walking around the city, stuffing my face full of pasta and gelato, visiting the historical sites and museums and so much more…
Interesting fact – pretty sure I’m the only person on earth who visited Rome and decided to avoid the Vatican.
Childfree Vacation in Romania
This was one of my most spontaneous trips. My friend was getting married and originally wasn’t going to go but decided I might at the last minute.
I literally bought a ticket and headed out two days before the wedding. I gorged myself on a local drink known as Visinata and ate the best pizza I ever had in Bucharest.
Other places I’ve been to include Singapore, Thailand, Malaysia, Oman, Bahrain, Mexico, Cyprus, Spain, Germany, and so many others.
Yet, I have only visited a fraction of the planet.
Unfortunately, the pandemic put a pin on traveling for over two years which was very tough for me but I’m getting ready to start going again in a few weeks.
If you’re thinking, “But people with kids go on vacations too,” I’m guessing you’ve never been on a vacation with kids. lol.
It’s the same stress of parenting but in a different location, and you’re paying for it too. Just ask any parent. Plus their plans are usually at the mercy of the kids’ schedules.
