The term “childfree” has a bit of controversy surrounding it with a lot of varied definitions of the term. However, it’s a simple word and the definition is implied in the term itself.
Childfree means a person who does not have any kids, whether biological, adopted, step, foster, or otherwise. Childfree is also known as childfree by choice.
A childfree person has deliberately decided not to procreate. Being childfree is different from being childless although people conflate the two frequently.
Childfree individuals usually make the choice to be childfree from a young age or later on in life based on a variety of life factors.
Childfree people are not barren (although some could be).
Childfree people are not the antichrist or selfish.
Childfree people do not hate kids.
And childfree people are not hurting anyone by making the best choice for themselves.
Truly childfree people rarely change their minds and are happy and contented with their lives as has been documented across several studies such as:-
